One more favorite thing

Eddie has only recently started eating more. This is one baby food that he will eat....this is the only flavor!!! (and I can only find it sometimes at Target and BabiesRUs) Also he eats YoBaby yogurt....but only the vanilla and banana flavor(found only at HEB on Gattis and most Wal-marts).

However, you will all be happy to know that he now eats taco meat, meatloaf, french fries, and mac and cheese. He ate some chicken nuggets for me, but has refused to eat them in front of his Daddy, so Ed does not believe that he will eat chicken. He ate some rice the other night while eating some taco meat.

He loves ice cream!!!

We are trying to branch out, but he still spits most veggies out of his mouth. We will get there, one bite at a time.

Favorite things

I have to stay up for a bit to take my medicine, so I thought that I would blog a little about some of Eddies Favorite Things.

This would be teething tablets and Tylenol. He actually takes them without a fuss because he knows that they help with his cutting teeth. (I think Mommy and Daddy like them more than Eddie, though.)

Here we have a little doctor bag. I searched around for an inexpensive one with a stethosope. When I go get my allergy shots, he tries to take the real one's away from the nurses. One day we were there when it was not busy and Trish let Eddie walk around with her stethoscope around his neck. He was so excited and proud!! I think on the picasa website, I have some of him playing with the kit.

Balls....what can I say....we have so many (these are only a few). He loves throwing them all over the place. We have had to put away the plastic and harder ones for now....he really has an arm and can hurt you, if you are not expecting it.

We have to thank one of our KinderMusik friends for introducing us to these. Much better than goldfish (less sodium). Only problem is that I can only find them at Target. They were on sale last week at Target, but each time I went, the shelf was empty. I am sure they will have more after the sale!

A new school year

Well, a new school year is starting and I am staying home, again. Who could leave this cute face???

I really do miss all of my friends from teaching. I was not good this past year about keeping in touch. Hopefully I can get back in touch and start seeing them some. I am starting to get out and do some things with a mom's group around here. Also, since I have been taking Eddie to KinderMusik for the past year, I have gotten to know some of those moms. We have started getting together some since our boys are all about the same age.

Wow! I never thought that another school year would get started and I am almost not missing it. I still have stacks and boxes of stuff in the garage that I guess I need to go through and trash a lot and donate a lot to those still teaching. Of course, when do I have much time. When Eddie naps, I try to clean up the house, eat lunch or just relax for a bit.

You know, I wouldn't change a thing. I have so enjoyed being home with Eddie this year and getting to watch him grow into the very strong minded little boy that he is. I have taught him some sign language and a few words. He is such a precious little boy.

No camera

OK, I need to put the camera back in the bag and start carrying it with me all of the time. We went to the National night out at the park in our subdivision tonight and when we were leaving Eddie started to push the stroller. He pushed it almost the entire way home. It was so cute (again, I wish that I had the camera so that others could see).
Also, today, when Ed came by for a few minutes in the command vehicle, Eddie was demanding to see the flashing lights. He has just started to enjoy these (I guess it is because of all of his toys with lights).

We are supposed to get some rain from the tropical storm Edourd (not sure of the spelling). However, watching the radar earlier leads me to believe that it broke up and we will get no rain. Oh, well. Better luck next time.

A busy summer

Wow!! August is already here. June and July just flew by so quickly. We were gone for part of July to NY for Danny and Jess' wedding. We had a wonderful time. I kept forgetting to take pictures, so I hope that others too some of Eddie and will send them to us at some point. I have been bad about the picture thing recently. I need to get better and start posting on a regular basis.
Eddie is just growing like crazy....sometimes he seems like he knows too much.
Oops, I thought I had more time, but he is waking up. I am going to try to post later...if anyone still reads this...if not, it is for our own family records.

Update

It's been crazy since Christmas. Baby Eddie and I have been sick and I think finally on the road to recovery. He's had 2 ear infections, a double right after Christmas and one last week. He had had the stomach flu a few weeks ago and threw up almost all of his medicine last week. I have had 2 sinus infections, stomach flu and most recently an upper respiratory infection. Ed has been mostly well. He has had his usual migraines and a small touch of the stomach flu.
We made another trip to NY. This time for Ed's grandfather's funeral. It was very sad to lose Grandpa Wischmeyer, but we feel lucky that Eddie got to meet him and see him 3 times this past year. Of course it was nice to see the NY family again. Eddie has gotten to see them a lot more in his first year than we ever imagined.
I have photos to download, just have not sat at the computer long enough to do it. I am going to try tomorrow morning while Eddie takes a nap (now that I say that he will not take one for me). I think I have over 100. They are from Christmas and various other days since then when he has been cute...when has he not!
I forgot to take my camera today, but he petted a horse for the first time today. We went over to watch cousin Marie at her horse back riding lesson and Eddie watch and then got to pet one. He was so gentle. I think it is from practice with Lacey, although he gets more daring everyday with her. I have to get the video camera out and video him playing with her. He shakes a straw at her and she swats at it and manages to not scratch him. It is so cute, because Eddie is so excited about it!
Well, I am off to bed since the boy is down for now. (I have to sleep as much as I can when he goes down for the night since I never know if he will get up in the middle of the night or not.)

2 parties in one week

OK, so I signed up to give a Pampered Chef party before the end of the year. Then I signed up on House Party and was selected to host a party to watch "Lipstick Jungle" before it is on national TV.
If there is anyone out there who wants to come to either party, please let me know. I will include the details and just let me know if you are interested, if I did not send you an email invite, please forgive me and you are more than welcome to attend either!

Pampered chef is on Sunday, January 27th at 3 PM. IF you want to come, let me know and I will send you an invite. If you cannot attend and would like to order something go to the Web site at http://www.pamperedchef.biz/amandab, go to the Our Products section, select the link below the products you would like to purchase, and enter my first and last name in the fields provided.

House party to watch "Lipstick Jungle" is Thursday, January 31st at 6:30PM. This show is going to be on NBC and is based on a book by the same woman who wrote the "Sex in the City" book. For this party, I'm going to have some appetizer type foods and wine. Please feel free to bring your favorite TV watching food and beverage of your choice. There may be some favors that are sent from the House Party people, but I won't know until I get the package with the DVD!

Hope to see everyone at one of the parties. If not, please give me a call or write me. I would love to spend time with some of my friends that I have lost touch with in the past few months. I know that everyone is busy, but it would be great to just have lunch or coffee sometime!

I miss you all!!

Christmas Message

This is our blog and we are going to try to be better in the new year about posting to it so that friends and family can read about Eddie (yes, it is all about the boy, now)!

I hope to post at least as often as I add photos to the web album: http://picasaweb.google.com/ctydings. I will not always send out emails, but check back often to see what we are up to and how the little one is growing.

2007 was full of change for us. Our family grew on Good Friday, April 6...Edward William was born. We were so excited to meet him. As most of you know, we decided to wait to find out if it was a boy or girl and were so thrilled that we have this precious little boy.

I decided to stay home this school year with him and am enjoying watching him grow and become a big boy! I do miss all of the friends that I worked with, but it is worth it to spend time with my two Eddies. We do go to a play group with some friends from church on Wednesday afternoons and a Kindermusik class on Thursday morning. Eddie loves the music class and the new friends that he has met. There are three little boys that are almost the same age as Eddie. It has been fun watching them begin interacting with one another.

Eddie has already been a wonderful traveller. We drove to Atlanta in May to watch Uncle Mike graduate from college. We flew to Rochester in September for Grandma and Grandpa Wischmeyer's 60th wedding party. Unfortunately, we had to fly to Rochester in October for Grandma Tydings' funeral.

I think with all of that travelling, Eddie was able to meet almost all of his relatives. Not bad for someone with an extended family out of state and less than a year old. (I think we still have a few in Texas to meet.)

Let me tell you about a few of Eddie's milestones that I can remember:
He rolled over for the first time on July 26th (know the exact date as it is my birthday)
He started military crawling in September and October, before that he moved around mostly by rolling.
He started cutting his first tooth on December 6th.

Eddie's had trouble eating solid foods. We tried cereal and different fruit and veggies and for a while we had a little bulimic baby. He just did not want to keep the food down in the evenings. However, we kept trying, even if it was more of just a mess than any actual food getting in his belly (just look at some of the pictures). Just in the past week is he starting to want to eat solids and opening his mouth for the spoon.

Eddie is such an good baby. He really does not get very fussy unless he is very hungry, overly tired or a very dirty diaper. You can probably see from the pictures that he smiles a lot. That makes a mommy and daddy very happy.

We are so blessed to have this wonderful little one in our live and it is all about him these days.

After Christmas, I will try to start posting more often and feel free to reply or send me an email if I have been too long without a post or pictures on the web album.

We love you all and hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!!!

So I guess that I need to start writing again. Several people have mentioned that they have checked for updates.
Well, her goes....
the biggest update is that we had a baby on April 6. Edward William Tydings was born at 4:04 PM and was 7 pounds, 12 ounces and 20 inches long.

We have decided to start a web album to let everyone see his growth. I will try to update this as I update pictures starting with the next time.

Here is the website for pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/ctydings.

Enjoy!

Not here yet

We are still waiting the arrival of our newest member to the family. The due date came and went yesterday without anything. I went to the doctor on Monday and there is little progression. He sort of expected that with a first baby. They have scheduled me for an induction on Monday, if this little one does not come before then. However, I am hoping that we have the baby before Easter. But there is someone else in charge, so the baby will come, when he or she is ready.
Actually, this has given me some time to rest this week. I finished working last week, however, I am still in touch with a couple of teachers and the substitute to try to get grades finished before they are due on Monday.
Eddie and I still have a few things to do around the house and hopefully we can get them done and relax knowing that we are ready for our baby.
That's all for now.
