Christmas Message

This is our blog and we are going to try to be better in the new year about posting to it so that friends and family can read about Eddie (yes, it is all about the boy, now)!

I hope to post at least as often as I add photos to the web album: http://picasaweb.google.com/ctydings. I will not always send out emails, but check back often to see what we are up to and how the little one is growing.

2007 was full of change for us. Our family grew on Good Friday, April 6...Edward William was born. We were so excited to meet him. As most of you know, we decided to wait to find out if it was a boy or girl and were so thrilled that we have this precious little boy.

I decided to stay home this school year with him and am enjoying watching him grow and become a big boy! I do miss all of the friends that I worked with, but it is worth it to spend time with my two Eddies. We do go to a play group with some friends from church on Wednesday afternoons and a Kindermusik class on Thursday morning. Eddie loves the music class and the new friends that he has met. There are three little boys that are almost the same age as Eddie. It has been fun watching them begin interacting with one another.

Eddie has already been a wonderful traveller. We drove to Atlanta in May to watch Uncle Mike graduate from college. We flew to Rochester in September for Grandma and Grandpa Wischmeyer's 60th wedding party. Unfortunately, we had to fly to Rochester in October for Grandma Tydings' funeral.

I think with all of that travelling, Eddie was able to meet almost all of his relatives. Not bad for someone with an extended family out of state and less than a year old. (I think we still have a few in Texas to meet.)

Let me tell you about a few of Eddie's milestones that I can remember:
He rolled over for the first time on July 26th (know the exact date as it is my birthday)
He started military crawling in September and October, before that he moved around mostly by rolling.
He started cutting his first tooth on December 6th.

Eddie's had trouble eating solid foods. We tried cereal and different fruit and veggies and for a while we had a little bulimic baby. He just did not want to keep the food down in the evenings. However, we kept trying, even if it was more of just a mess than any actual food getting in his belly (just look at some of the pictures). Just in the past week is he starting to want to eat solids and opening his mouth for the spoon.

Eddie is such an good baby. He really does not get very fussy unless he is very hungry, overly tired or a very dirty diaper. You can probably see from the pictures that he smiles a lot. That makes a mommy and daddy very happy.

We are so blessed to have this wonderful little one in our live and it is all about him these days.

After Christmas, I will try to start posting more often and feel free to reply or send me an email if I have been too long without a post or pictures on the web album.

We love you all and hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!!!

So I guess that I need to start writing again. Several people have mentioned that they have checked for updates.
Well, her goes....
the biggest update is that we had a baby on April 6. Edward William Tydings was born at 4:04 PM and was 7 pounds, 12 ounces and 20 inches long.

We have decided to start a web album to let everyone see his growth. I will try to update this as I update pictures starting with the next time.

Here is the website for pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/ctydings.

Enjoy!

Not here yet

We are still waiting the arrival of our newest member to the family. The due date came and went yesterday without anything. I went to the doctor on Monday and there is little progression. He sort of expected that with a first baby. They have scheduled me for an induction on Monday, if this little one does not come before then. However, I am hoping that we have the baby before Easter. But there is someone else in charge, so the baby will come, when he or she is ready.
Actually, this has given me some time to rest this week. I finished working last week, however, I am still in touch with a couple of teachers and the substitute to try to get grades finished before they are due on Monday.
Eddie and I still have a few things to do around the house and hopefully we can get them done and relax knowing that we are ready for our baby.
That's all for now.

Long time

It's been a long time since I updated. I don't know if anyone still checks. If you do, let me know. I am going to start updating soon with some ultrasound pictures and what has been going on the past 9 months. This is also where we will start posting our first pictures of Eddie-Cat.

Baseball game

Eddie took me to a baseball game at the Dell Diamond on Friday, June 16th. We have the Round Rock Express which are now the triple A team for the Astros. Well, for anyone who does not know...the Astros are my favorite team and they recently resigned Roger Clemens. He came to pitch here before returning to the Astros last week.

Not only was Roger there...the main attraction...but I had a bit of a distraction.... Matthew McConaughy was there with Lance Armstrong (can't see Lance much in the pictures, but you can see Matthew)!

We thought that Roger was not going to last too long...he threw 41 pitches in the first inning and gave up 3 runs. He recovered and did not allow any more. Then the Express scored for Roger and we won the game. It was a fun night!!

Found pictures

I don't know if this has ever happened to you...but have you ever found a roll of film and developed it not knowing what was on it?? These are from our day trip to Lost Maples state park to see the leaves change in Texas on November 6th.

The hummingbird is one of our visitors in the fall of last year.

School's out!!!!

Summer vacation starts NOW!!!!!
I got rid of the kids yesterday and had to return today to finish up and turn in a few things.

An update...Eddie received a promotion and is now a captain. I am now the social studies department chair for Ridgeview.

Not much has been happening recently. I was just trying to get through the end of the school year. I napped most of the evening away!

Plans for the summer: I have a 3 day workshop next week called "Capturing Kids Hearts" and then a 4 day one the following week at the LBJ Presidential Library learning about and studying some of the archives!
We're looking a possible going to Egypt...however, I had no idea how expensive the tickets are. If anyone has any pulls with the airlines or know a good travel agent...Let us know. It looks like the ticket price might keep us from going. (so I guess no pyramids in my future)

That's all for now.
Have a great summer!

ps check out my website for my new business...www.carmentydings.myarbonne.com
email me if you have any questions, would like to book a party or try the products!!

Trees and garden

I forgot to include picutres of our two newest trees in the back... a burr oak and a crepe myrtle (when it blooms it is supposed to be red...will post pictures when it does).
I added some photos from our front garden as well...it is well into blooming. The passion vine we have growing around the post was cut back to almost nothing by Eddie and has been growing like crazy. It started blooming this week!

April

Not much new going on here.
Hummingbirds are back. We’ve had some visits from the black-chinned.
Our garden is starting to bloom and grow lots of weeds.
We just finished our state testing called TAKS last week.
Eddie went to NY for a wedding this past weekend. I thought that I would have a nice quiet weekend. I ended up having lots of rain and some hail the day and night Eddie left (see picture of lots of rain…never did get the hail in pictures, it was only marble size and melted with all of the rain. ON Friday night until after 11 PM, I helped with a lock-in for the WEB program that I am a sponsor for (we had the 8th graders come and make posters and a commercial to recruit 7th graders for the program for next year). Then I picked Marie up from Jamie in Brenham on Saturday and on Sunday took her to JJ (Jamie is staying longer with mom because her foot surgery was worse than originally thought).
Today, I did not have to go to work, because I had jury duty in the city of Hutto. I can now say that I have served on a Jury!!
Enjoy the pictures!

We're back!!!

I guess it has been long enough since I updated. As most of you that check this know, I had a miscarriage last month. We are recovering from that and getting excited about trying again. At lease we know that we can get pregnant.
I guess it is also blessing that things happened the way it did as some interesting opportunities have come up recently.
I was asked to help with our 6th grade orientation program called "WEB." So I will be very busy before school starts training 8th graders to give the 6th grade orientation. I had a wonderful training for the program at Lakeway Inn before Spring Break (lots of wonderful food, snacks and a huge flat screen TV in the room).
The Muffolettos came to visit for Spring Break and helped to reorganize and redecorate our office/craft room. It looks very cool and I hope to get some pictures and post them in the near future. My sister and brother-in-law are so awesome! I can't wait for Jamie and Marie to return this summer so we can get the other room painted and decorated (maybe some help in the rest of the house??!)!
We are hoping that my dad is still in Egypt this summer and Eddie and I might decide to take a trip to visit him. I am trying to not get too excited...this would be such a trip of a lifetime for me. It is one of those places in the world that I have always wanted to go (got the Greece thing out of the way a few years ago). It would be so neat to experience this with my husband! (so, dad, hope you stay, even if you're not hip on the new management--- I'm being selfish!)
Eddie has been spending a lot of time working in the yard. He has been trying to get rid of weeds and grass from areas that we neglected. He has been doing such a wonderful job!! It is looking great.
For anyone that sent Eddie money for his birthday, it went toward a new tree in our backyard. We got a burr oak. As soon as it starts to leaf out, I will take pictures and post.
Someone told Eddie this week that they have seen the hummingbirds, so we are going to have to start boiling some water and get our feeders out. Again, as soon as we get them I will take pictures and post.
Well, I really need to start grading some papers and get ready for another day. Not too long before the end of the school year!!
love to everyone
