2 months

Liam is 2 months old today. Already, I think he is a lot bigger than Eddie was even though they were born almost the same. He has his 2 month appointment tomorrow and we will see. He gets shots tomorrow. Poor baby. Eddie will get a flu shot (if the doctors office has it). It should be an interesting afternoon around the Tydings house...some little ones with some leg pain.

Pyelonephritis

OK, so I was home from the hospital a little over a week and started feeling bad about August 1. I had been feeling like I was running a fever...hot then chills. Ed went to get his hair cut and by the time he got back I was shivering so badly...took my temp and was running about 104....so he called ERs to see who was working. Ended up being admitted and eventually diagnosed with pyelonephritis...extreme kidney infection and bacteria in my blood stream. Long story short...I was on IV antibiotics until Tuesday (when I got out of hospital) and then oral antibiotics for another 2 weeks. It took a couple of weeks, but I made a full recovery...plus lost a few pounds (had no appetite).

Here is a link to some info about pyelonephritis: https://www.google.com/health/ref/Pyelonephritis

Ed tried to keep Liam home the first night with a bottle of pumped milk and even tried some formula....no dice. Liam did not go for it. He ended up staying with me in the hospital. (side note: they almost did not let me out of the hospital on Tuesday because I kept spiking a fever...finally realized it was from holding and nursing Liam...his body temp made mine go up)

Basically, the moral of the story is to make sure to take all antibiotics if you have an UTI or kidney infection and have the doc check with an urinalysis, especially if you are on pain meds (was taking the because of the c-section, so I never felt the severe back pain that would have been a clue).

Long time no blog

Well, one of my resolutions for this year was to get on here more often to update things.
Not been very good at that....
So, I am going to start again. It's mostly for me and so that I can have something to help me remember what is going on with the boys. If any friends or family read...then that is bonus for them to see what is going on in our lives.

Since I last posted, lots has happened around the Tydings house!

First them me start by saying that it has been difficult with 2 children getting on the computer for long periods of time. it seems as if they never sleep at the same time or if they do, i am running around trying to get things done in the house or feeding. I decided that today, i would sit and type for a bit....not sure how long I will get, but I will try.

I had Liam Daniel Tydings on July 20th at 7:33 AM. He was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 19 1/2 inches. He is a healthy baby boy. He has a head full of dark hair. He has been growing tremendously since he was born. Not surprising since he is eating non-stop. He is causing Mommy to be very tired!! When we took him to his 1 month appointment, he was 9 pounds and 15 ounces! Can't wait to see how big he is next week for his 2 month appointment.

Eddie seemed to be doing very well with his little brother until the past few weeks. I think we have seen the regression. We had started potty training and Eddie had been doing very well. The one big problem was that he would not tell us when he needed to go, but we were being very good about getting him on the potty every few hours. Now with the chaos, we have not been the best and he has been fighting us. I have read that potty training and eating are 2 things that kidos can control. Well, he is controlling both of those....we are having trouble with Eddie eating too.

OK, I am going stop for now...I hear some stirrings from the bedrooms and need to get a couple of things done before they wake.

Busy week

Wow...it's been a very busy week. I know the house so messy and dirty because we have spent so much time away this week. But, it has been such a nice week (weather wise) that we have spent a lot of time outside. Several evenings, we have taken walks after dinner and pushed Eddie on his tricycle.

Let's see, I will have to update the pictures later (I actually took some pictures while out this week). We went to Champion's park on Tuesday and Eddie played in the sand. We met Riley and Kelly so that Riley and Eddie could play. At first Eddie was saying "dirty, dirty" about the sand, but eventually had fun playing in it. Wednesday, we went to Arrowhead ranch where Eddie got to ride a horse/pony and hold a rabbit (rather large bunny). He ran away from the goats. Then on Thursday, we met some of our Kindermusik buddies at Brushy Creek Lake park and ran around. Eddie like the swing most of all.

Eddie had a couple of bumps on the head this week that scared mommy very much. We went over to Aunt Jamie and Uncle JJ's and Eddie was hit by a falling shelf. He cried for a bit and we called Daddy because Mommy was so scared. He just has a little bump on the top of his head. No blood and no visible bruised. Then the next day, at Brushy Creek Park, a girl went running past Eddie and smacked into him sending him face first into the mulch. He screamed and came up with a mouth full of mulch. He seemed to be OK after some juice and graham crackers. Then, a little while later, our neighbors across the street brought over a larger tricycle for Eddie and he was sitting on it in the living room. Daddy threw a ball or was it tried to block Eddie's ball (can't quite remember)...all I remember is Eddie turning to try to get the ball and then landing face first on the carpet.

I know that boys are tough, but it was hard on Mommy to see him get all of these bumps in such a short amount of time. No football for Eddie, no matter how much he begs. I know he can still get hit in baseball, basketball and soccer, but the ultimate goal is not hurting each other in these sports.

Anyway, now I am just trying to decide if we should make another trip out. If we decide to go out today, I would like to take him to see the Biscuit Brothers. They are playing a free concert that is part of SXSW (a famous music festival here in Austin). The problem is because it is free, everyone will probably be there and it will be chaotic. Plus, it is at 2:30 which is right at nap time, so I'm not sure how much he will enjoy it. I think I will probably just see how the morning goes and his temperament this morning my decide if I will venture out in the crowd and the heat with him or if we will just chill at the homestead.

Busy

OK, so today I am being lazy and catching up on the DVR.
But we have been on the go the past two days. I will post some pictures later (I have not set that up on the laptop, yet).

Sunday, we went to a Longhorn baseball game courtesy of our neighbor, Carlos. We had seats in a suite and hot dogs and nachos provided. Eddie had a blast going inside and out to watch "ball, ball, ball." Plus, we witnessed a no-hitter. It was loads of fun!

Yesterday, Monday, I took Eddie down to the capital to see the Biscuit Brothers in concert. They were playing on the south steps of the capital to promote a new cd that they are going to make about Texas. Eddie really enjoyed it. We have been watching their show on PBS. It's all about music. He really loves it and dances around the living room to it. He was a bit scared because there were so many people, but he managed a few smiles and bouncing on my lap a few times! When I took him over to Dusty and Buford, he shook their hands. He was so excited! He has his own way of saying 'biscuit' right now. When I ask him if he enjoyed seeing the Biscuit Brothers, he nods and says "uhu."

That's all for now....I am going to rest some before he is up from his nap!

update

OK, it's been crazy around here. I have a resolution to try to update this more often....say at least monthly. Even if no one reads this, I plan on doing this to try to help when I go to scrapbook.
Let's see, what has been going on since December. We went to NY right after Christmas. Eddie experienced his first snow. I took video, I don't think I took pictures. I think my father-in-law took some pictures. I need to ask him so that I can get some copies. Big Eddie was excited to have the snow, too. When we first arrived in NY the snow practically totally melted by New Year's Eve, then a big snow. Little Eddie did not like being placed in the snow by his Daddy with the large flakes blowing in his face.
We came back and have been trying to get on a schedule. We made a quick trip to Louisiana to see my grandmother...we had word that she was not doing well. She lost her battle with cancer and we buried her earlier this month.
I am at 18 weeks in the pregnancy. We have an ultrasound in 2 weeks. As with Eddie, we are going to wait until L-Cat is born to find out if we have Liam Daniel or Cathryn Ann. I am still feeling tired and upset to my stomach. I haven't gotten sick, just food does not sound very good to me.
We finally got a laptop....that is what I am typing this on right now. I am so excited that I can watch some TV and check email at the same time. Now I just have to change my email address to a google account that I can check online.
Well, I am going to have to close this post for now and I will go back later and put some pictures from out picasaweb album with comments later.
If anyone checks this....please let me know...if not, maybe I will just go back to journal writing....but if you are interested in hearing my babblings, please let me know.

Scared of Santa

I was going to try to use this for our Christmas card, but I think he looks too scared. I thought I got the picture before he started screaming....oh, well.

It is time to announce that we are expecting baby #2. I took a test this morning and it was positive. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as it is very early. It looks like the due date will be sometime in July.
